What the service does

STLsmith converts a plain-language description into a parametric 3D model and lets you download it as an STL file. Each generation consumes one credit, except on the Pro plan, which includes unlimited generations subject to fair use: up to 400 generations per rolling month, after which generation pauses until the window resets. The 3D preview and the STL file are produced in your browser from the generated specification.

Credits are consumed when a generation is produced, including when the result is not what you hoped for. If a generation fails for technical reasons, the credit is normally returned automatically, subject to a fair-use limit on repeated failures.

Your files and what you may do with them

We claim no rights over the files you generate and we place no restriction on what you do with them. On every plan, including the free tier, you may print them, modify them, and sell physical objects printed from them, with no royalty and no attribution required.

Purely machine-generated functional geometry may not attract copyright at all in some jurisdictions, so we do not promise you own it — we promise that we will never assert anything against you over it. The Workshop plan puts that in writing as an explicit, permanent licence covering redistribution and resale of the files themselves, which is useful if you need something to show a client or a marketplace.

You are responsible for the descriptions you submit. Do not use STLsmith to generate parts that infringe someone else's intellectual property, or that are unlawful to manufacture where you live.

No warranty, and an important safety limit

STLsmith is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Generated geometry is produced by an AI model and is not reviewed by an engineer.

Do not use generated parts where failure could cause injury or significant damage. That includes load-bearing structural components, anything supporting people or heavy objects overhead, pressure-carrying parts, vehicle, aviation or medical components, and anything protective. Printed plastic parts vary in strength with material, orientation, infill and printer calibration. You are responsible for verifying that a part is fit for its purpose before relying on it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Accounts, acceptable use and availability

Accounts are created with an emailed sign-in link. Keep access to your mailbox secure; anyone with the link can access your account.

Do not attempt to bypass credit limits, resell access to the generation endpoint, or use automated means to consume the free tier at scale. We may suspend accounts that do.

The service is in beta. We may change or discontinue features, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version. Material changes affecting paid plans will be announced by email to account holders.

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which Juan Manuel Fernández is established, without affecting mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.

Qué hace el servicio

STLsmith convierte una descripción en lenguaje natural en un modelo 3D paramétrico y te permite descargarlo como archivo STL. Cada generación consume un crédito, salvo en el plan Pro, que incluye generaciones ilimitadas sujetas a uso razonable: hasta 400 generaciones por mes móvil, tras lo cual la generación se pausa hasta que la ventana se reinicia. La vista previa 3D y el archivo STL se producen en tu navegador a partir de la especificación generada.

Los créditos se consumen al producirse una generación, incluso si el resultado no es el que esperabas. Si una generación falla por motivos técnicos, el crédito se devuelve normalmente de forma automática, con un límite de uso razonable ante fallos repetidos.

Tus archivos y qué puedes hacer con ellos

No reclamamos ningún derecho sobre los archivos que generas ni ponemos restricción alguna a lo que hagas con ellos. En todos los planes, incluido el gratuito, puedes imprimirlos, modificarlos y vender objetos físicos impresos a partir de ellos, sin royalties y sin necesidad de atribución.

La geometría funcional generada íntegramente por una máquina puede no estar protegida por derechos de autor en algunos ordenamientos, así que no te prometemos que sea tuya: te prometemos que nunca ejerceremos nada contra ti por ella. El plan Taller lo pone por escrito como licencia expresa y permanente que cubre la redistribución y reventa de los propios archivos, útil si necesitas enseñárselo a un cliente o a un marketplace.

Eres responsable de las descripciones que envías. No uses STLsmith para generar piezas que infrinjan propiedad intelectual ajena o cuya fabricación sea ilegal donde resides.

Sin garantía, y un límite de seguridad importante

STLsmith se presta tal cual, sin garantía de ningún tipo. La geometría la produce un modelo de IA y no la revisa ningún ingeniero.

No uses piezas generadas donde un fallo pueda causar lesiones o daños relevantes. Eso incluye elementos estructurales con carga, cualquier cosa que sostenga personas u objetos pesados en altura, piezas sometidas a presión, componentes de vehículos, aeronáutica o uso médico, y equipos de protección. La resistencia de una pieza impresa varía con el material, la orientación, el relleno y la calibración de la impresora. Verificar que una pieza sirve para su uso previsto es responsabilidad tuya.

En la medida máxima permitida por la ley, nuestra responsabilidad total derivada del uso del servicio se limita al importe que nos hayas pagado en los doce meses anteriores a la reclamación.

Cuentas, uso aceptable y disponibilidad

Las cuentas se crean con un enlace de acceso enviado por email. Mantén segura tu cuenta de correo: quien tenga el enlace puede entrar.

No intentes eludir los límites de créditos, revender el acceso al endpoint de generación ni consumir el plan gratuito de forma automatizada a gran escala. Podemos suspender las cuentas que lo hagan.

El servicio está en beta. Podemos cambiar o retirar funcionalidades y no garantizamos disponibilidad ininterrumpida.

Cambios y ley aplicable

Podemos actualizar estos términos; la fecha superior indica la versión vigente. Los cambios relevantes que afecten a planes de pago se comunicarán por email a los titulares de cuenta.

Estos términos se rigen por la ley del país en el que está establecido Juan Manuel Fernández, sin perjuicio de los derechos imperativos de consumidor que te correspondan donde resides.
